New Development in South Africa

The Young Rite now has a Circle in South Africa. It may have started from humble beginnings. However, the sacredness envisaged by the Young Rite is there in full force.

The leadership lies with Bishop Johannes, a Bishop consecrated in the Apostolic Succession and member of the Sophia Circle.

In principle, the Holy Eucharist will be celebrated every second and fourth Sunday of the Month, starting at 09:30. Click on the "News" button to see our diary.

The Young Rite Movement

The principles on which this movement is based are described in the Landmarks, published on the international Young Rite web site www.YoungRite.org.

Each circle is entitled and encouraged to work with experimental forms of the Holy Eucharist. The direction which the South African circle wishes to explore is described in the page titled The Eucharist.
