| The universal path to enlightenment is symbolised in initiations
into three stages or degrees. These stages symbolise the threefold nature of the life of
the universe and the human being. Roughly speaking these may be seen as energy, structure
and life itself. However, we as incarnated human beings are active in the manifested
universe. The basic work of the ritual is therefore in the first stage; the functions
fulfilled symbolise the complete nature of the manifested universe. The rituals of the
second and third stage are therefore only used to initiate persons to a following stage.
Ideally, some time should pass between the various initiations and a period of at least
three months is recommended. Initiations are conferred by
someone who has received all three initiations and has fulfilled all of the functions
within the temple.
