The Most Reverend
John Kersey
(Tau Eleutherius, EP. GN.)
Metropolitan Primate, Ecclesia Apostolica Divinorum Mysteriorum
John Kersey (Tau Eleutherius) was educated at grammar school in London
and at universities in Europe, Africa and Central America. He holds doctorates in
divinity, education and the humanities. He was a lay-worker for twelve years in a number
of different denominations before serving two non-Apostolic ministries in London. The
decision of the latter community to seek Apostolic ordination brought him into contact
with the Old Catholics, and between 2006 and January 2009 he was jointly responsible for
leading a Liberal Catholic church that during his time expanded to become a worldwide
communion. Since that time, his ministry has developed in a significantly more esoteric
and Gnostic direction; he currently leads the Ecclesia Apostolica Divinorum Mysteriorum
(http://innerchurch.wordpress.com) as a body in these traditions, as well as holding
representative positions for the Apostolic Episcopal Church, an Eastern rite Uniate
mission, and the Order of Corporate Reunion. His theological interests are in the
initiatic Wisdom heritages and in their past and future relationship with the outer
church.
He has taught and held management positions in further and higher
education, and in 2003 was one of the founders of European-American University, an
international network of over 30 campuses in sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. Today, he serves
as President and Director of Academic Affairs of this organisation and as a scholar is
concerned primarily with historical aspects of ecclesiology, education, and music. His
books include "Education without The State" (2009) and several editions of
classic Liberal Catholic texts.
